Are guests required to send an activity gift?
No. RSVPing is enough. Showing up is enough. Activity gifts are just an option for guests who want to give something more meaningful than a toy. Your party is your party regardless.
What can I use gift funds for?
Gift funds are for children's activities and experiences: swimming, art, dance, sports, camps, lessons, indoor play, museums, and similar enrichment. If you pay out of pocket, upload the receipt. When it clearly shows a child activity and fits within the available gift fund balance, Upward sends reimbursement through Stripe.
Do guests need an Upward account?
No. Guests can open the invitation, RSVP, write a note, and send an activity gift from their phone without creating an account.
Can I co-host a celebration with a partner?
Yes. Either parent or another family member can be added as a co-host. You both get the same access to invites, activity gifts, and updates.
Where is Upward available?
We're focused on Vancouver and the Lower Mainland for now. We're expanding across Canada as we add more partner venues.
Are gift funds the same as cash?
No. Activity gifts are not cash and are not a general-purpose balance. They stay connected to the child and celebration so they can support real kids' activities.
